Bio Hi, I’m Lawrence,

As one of the co-founders of Telimed, I want to start by saying thank you for checking out our platform!

When we created Telimed, our goal was to give holistic and allied healthcare practitioners a space to reach more people, and at the same time, make it easier for patients to find the care they need—all in one streamlined, user-friendly hub. We've recently launched, and while we’re proud of what we’ve built so far, this is really just the beginning. With your feedback and input, we’re already planning updates and new features that we’re excited to roll out in the future.

Now, a little bit about me.

I’m a bachelor-qualified Naturopath and Nutritionist, and I’ve been supporting clients for over a decade across Australia, Sri Lanka, and Hong Kong. I’ve had the privilege of learning from and working alongside some truly incredible practitioners around the world, which has shaped the way I approach health. It’s also why I believe so strongly in complementary medicine—because I’ve seen firsthand just how powerful it can be.

One of the core values in my practice is individualised, patient-centred care. That’s why my initial consultations are an hour long—I want to take the time to really understand your story, your background, and what’s going on for you. Over the years, I’ve worked closely with GPs, acupuncturists, psychologists, and many other health professionals. So depending on your needs, I may also suggest integrating other modalities as part of your care plan.

Outside the clinic, I’ve been involved in all sorts of projects—running therapeutic cooking classes, designing food-as-medicine menus, educating chefs and hospitality teams, managing clinics and dispensaries, and being a guest speaker at events and on podcasts. I’ve also supported brands, cafes, and restaurants with nutrition guidance.

My clinical focus is grounded in evidence-based natural medicine, with a special interest in women’s hormones, thyroid health, energy and fatigue, stealth infections, anxiety, digestion, respiratory issues, sleep and weight management.

A question I often get is: “What exactly is a naturopath?” And honestly, I understand that if you’ve seen a naturopath before, it might not be totally clear. On the Telimed website, we’ve got a section called “Our Modalities”, where you’ll find detailed explanations of all the different approaches we offer on Telimed, including naturopathy.

But to give you a quick and simple metaphor: Imagine you bump your arm. It bruises, it goes red, gets a little swollen—and then it heals. That healing response is your body’s innate ability to heal. What we do as naturopaths is support that natural healing process. When something’s not functioning properly, it’s usually because there’s a block, an imbalance, or a deficiency somewhere. Inflammation and other kinds of signals in the body is how it communicates and it can be quite complex, but if we hone in and investigate properly we can normally find areas to strengthen, so that the body can overcome the hurdles and start to function more normally again.

Here’s another way to look at it, using what’s called the triage theory. Think of nutrients in the body like building blocks—and take zinc, for example. Zinc is needed for so many things: immune function, hormone metabolism, skin health, and more. But if you’re low in zinc, your body has to prioritise. It might send the zinc you do have to your immune system to fight off a virus—because that’s more urgent—while hormone regulation gets pushed aside because its less important. Over time, when these imbalances go unaddressed, symptoms may start to appear. That’s where naturopathy steps in. We work to support and rebalance the body through diet, lifestyle adjustments, targeted supplements, and herbal medicine—and yes, I love herbs! We also have access to private functional testing, like hormone panels, blood work, or stool testing, if that’s something we need to use to dig deeper. And if you have had recent tests completed, then it’s useful to bring them along to your appointment because it can help guide our treatment.

If I do prescribe something, it will most likely come from an online dispensary and be delivered straight to your door.

So if you’d like to book in with me, I’d love the opportunity to support you on your healing journey.

Thanks so much for your time!

~Lawrence
