Telimed Practitioner Terms

Last updated 3 November 2026

These terms are for practitioners who offer services through Telimed. Clients have their own Client Terms.

1. This agreement

1.1 This agreement is between K&L Ventures Pty Ltd ABN 87 671 372 339, trading as Telimed (Telimed, we, us), and you, the practitioner offering services through the Telimed platform at telimed.health (the Platform).

1.2 You accept this agreement when you tick the box at sign-up agreeing to the terms and to keep all clients and bookings on Telimed. It continues until you or we end it (see section 10).

1.3 Our Client Terms set out what clients agree to, including the cancellation and refund rules in section 6 of this agreement. Our Privacy Policy applies to you too.

1.4 In this agreement, a Telimed client is anyone you first connected with through the Platform, whether through a booking, a message or your profile.

2. Our relationship

2.1 You are an independent contractor running your own practice. This agreement doesn't make you Telimed's employee, partner or agent. Telimed provides the Platform; you provide the health services and are responsible for them.

2.2 You are responsible for:

  • having an ABN and meeting your own tax obligations, including income tax and GST if you are registered;
  • holding current professional indemnity and public liability insurance suitable for telehealth; and
  • any registrations, licences or memberships your profession requires.

2.3 Telimed doesn't withhold tax or pay superannuation, leave or other employee entitlements for you.

3. Joining and staying listed

3.1 Before your profile goes live, we check the qualifications, registration and other documents you give us. Your profile is public only once we approve it. We may decline or remove a listing at our discretion.

3.2 You must:

  • give us true, complete and current information about your qualifications, registration, insurance and experience, and tell us within 7 days if any of it changes (for example, if your registration lapses or has conditions placed on it);
  • only offer services within your qualifications and scope of practice, and follow the laws, codes and standards of your profession; and
  • keep your profile, prices and availability up to date.

3.3 Registered professions (for example psychologists): you must follow the advertising rules that apply to you, including the Ahpra advertising guidelines. Testimonials can't be used to advertise regulated health services, so we may switch off ratings and reviews on your profile.

4. Fees

4.1 It's free to join Telimed, with no membership, subscription or set-up fees.

4.2 Telimed earns a commission of 17.5% on everything you sell through the Platform: consults, packages, courses, programs and any other services or products. The commission comes out of your earnings before they are paid to you, and covers payment processing, so you don't pay card fees on top.

4.3 Clients also pay Telimed a 2.5% booking fee on top of your price. This is paid by the client and is not taken from your earnings.

4.4 Example: for a $100 consult, the client pays $102.50. Telimed keeps the $2.50 booking fee and $17.50 commission, and you receive $82.50.

4.5 Discounts: if a client uses a Telimed discount code, the commission and your earnings are both worked out on the amount the client actually paid. By joining, you agree to accept Telimed's discount offers on your services. Practitioners can't opt out of individual promotions.

4.6 We may change the commission or booking fee by giving you at least 30 days' written notice. A change doesn't affect bookings made before it takes effect. If you don't accept a change, you can end this agreement before it takes effect.

5. Payouts

5.1 To be paid, you need to connect a Stripe account to your Telimed account. Telimed collects payment from clients as your limited payment collection agent, and pays you only for amounts clients have actually paid.

5.2 Your earnings for a consult are sent to your Stripe account once the consult date has passed. Stripe then pays them into your bank account on its usual schedule, and emails you to confirm. Course and program sales are paid out on the same schedule, once the date of purchase has passed.

5.3 If you haven't connected Stripe, your earnings are held until you do. If a payout fails, for example because your bank details are wrong, we'll let you know and try again once it's fixed.

5.4 We may take from your future earnings any amount you owe us, such as a refund we gave a client because you didn't attend a consult (see 6.3).

5.5 We aren't responsible for delays caused by Stripe or your bank. If a payout hasn't arrived when you expect it, email enquiries@telimed.health.

6. Cancellations, no-shows and refunds

What happensClientYou
Client cancels 24 hours or more beforeFull refundNot paid; the time is free again
Client cancels less than 24 hours beforeNo refundStill paid for the consult
Client doesn't turn upNo refundStill paid
You cancel or don't turn upFull refundNot paid

6.1 The 24 hours are measured from the consult's start time. You'll get an email and a text when a client cancels, telling you whether you'll still be paid.

6.2 If you need to cancel, do it as early as you can and offer the client another time. Repeated cancellations or no-shows may lead to your profile being suspended (see section 10).

6.3 If a client is refunded because you cancelled or didn't attend, and you had already been paid for that consult, we may take the amount from your future earnings.

6.4 Refunds that the Australian Consumer Law requires are always given. If one relates to your service, we may take it from your future earnings.

7. Keeping clients and bookings on Telimed

7.1 Telimed finds clients for you, handles their payments and keeps their care in one place. In return, you agree that all your work with Telimed clients stays on the Platform.

7.2 While this agreement is in place, and for 12 months after your last consult with a Telimed client or after this agreement ends (whichever is later), you must not:

  • give a Telimed client your phone number, email address, website, social media handle or other contact details, or ask for theirs;
  • invite, encourage or accept a booking or payment from a Telimed client outside the Platform, including at your own clinic, by phone or video, or through another booking service; or
  • encourage a Telimed client to stop using Telimed.

7.3 If a Telimed client asks to book with you privately, please tell them you can only see them through Telimed, and let us know.

7.4 Automated checks: the Platform automatically checks chat messages and your profile bio for contact details, websites and social handles. Messages that contain them aren't sent, and a bio that contains them won't save. We keep a record of each attempt and may review it.

7.5 What happens if this section is breached: depending on how serious it is, we may give you a warning, suspend your profile, or end this agreement and remove you from the Platform. Section 7.2 continues to apply after removal.

7.6 This section doesn't stop you seeing people you were already treating before they found you on Telimed. Please tell us about any such clients when you join.

8. Your conduct and client care

8.1 You are responsible for the care you give, and you must act professionally, honestly and within your scope of practice.

8.2 You must:

  • start consults on time, and reply to client messages within a reasonable time during the chat window;
  • keep clients' personal and health information confidential, use it only to care for them, and follow the Australian Privacy Principles;
  • keep clinical notes as your profession requires, using the Platform's consult notes and treatment plans; and
  • not record a consult unless the client has given clear consent first. Telimed doesn't record consults.

8.3 If a client may be at risk: if you think a client is in danger or a life-threatening situation, call 000. Email enquiries@telimed.health if you need the client's contact details to help them.

8.4 Tell a client to see their GP or another health professional whenever their needs fall outside your scope of practice.

8.5 You must not harass, discriminate against or behave inappropriately towards any client, practitioner or member of the Telimed team.

9. Your profile, courses and content

9.1 You own the content you create and upload, including your profile, photos, intro video, courses, programs and handouts. You give Telimed a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, display, promote and sell that content on the Platform and in Telimed's marketing, for as long as it's on the Platform.

9.2 Your profile and content must be accurate, must not include contact details, websites or social handles (see 7.4), and must not make misleading health claims or promise results.

9.3 You must only upload content you have the right to use, and nothing illegal, offensive or that infringes anyone else's rights.

9.4 We may edit, hide or remove content that breaks this agreement or the law, and we'll tell you why where it's reasonable to.

9.5 Clients who buy your courses or programs can keep any downloads for their personal use.

10. Suspension and ending the agreement

10.1 You can leave at any time by telling us in writing. Please complete or cancel any upcoming consults first. Clients will be refunded for any consults you cancel.

10.2 We can end this agreement by giving you 30 days' written notice.

10.3 We can suspend your profile or end this agreement straight away if you:

  • breach section 7 (keeping clients on Telimed);
  • give false information, or lose a registration, qualification or insurance you need to practise;
  • put a client at risk, or act unprofessionally or unlawfully; or
  • repeatedly cancel or miss consults.

Where it's reasonable, we'll tell you why first and give you a chance to respond.

10.4 When the agreement ends: your profile comes down; we pay you what you've earned for consults that have already happened; and upcoming bookings are cancelled and refunded to clients. Sections 5.4, 6.3, 7, 11 and any amounts you owe continue to apply.

11. Liability, indemnity and general terms

11.1 Your rights under the law come first. Nothing in this agreement limits any rights you have under the Australian Consumer Law that can't be excluded.

11.2 Apart from those rights, and as far as the law allows:

  • the Platform is provided as it is, and we can't promise it will always be available or error-free, or that you'll receive a certain number of bookings;
  • we aren't liable for indirect losses, such as lost income or opportunity; and
  • our total liability to you is limited to the commission you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.

11.3 You are responsible for the services you provide. You agree to cover Telimed's reasonable losses and costs from a claim made against us because of your services, your breach of this agreement or the law, or your misuse of client information, except to the extent Telimed caused it.

11.4 Changes: we may update this agreement by giving you at least 30 days' notice by email. If you keep using the Platform after a change takes effect, the new version applies. You can end the agreement before then if you don't agree.

11.5 Notices: we'll contact you at the email address on your account. You can contact us at enquiries@telimed.health.

11.6 Governing law: this agreement is governed by the laws of Queensland, Australia, and you and we agree to the courts of Queensland.
